A few years back when everyone was creating a new language, the creator of Seam framework created Ceylon. I think it was sponsored by Redhat, but i am not sure. I have been away from programming for a while and I am now working on Java when I rememberd the hype around Ceylon.

I looked up and it looks like it was a Eclipse project and now terminated? What happened? Surprisingly, on their X account, just a few days back, I see that the creator of Ceylon, says he wants to create yet another new language. Why was Ceylon abandoned then?
