I definitely see how swiping can be depressing, but when you cross paths with somebody IRL and things go south you might be in a situation where you might not want to ride the bus because you want to avoid that person.
Like many things like that there is also a density issue. It is one thing to promote it in a dense and tech-heavy area like the bay, in the rest of the country getting above critical mass could be harder.
Agree that other location-based apps (like Happn) have run into that problem with being overly specific in how they share location data. That's why on our app you can only see vague info limited to "they're also in the West Village." It doesn't update in real time or have their exact location.
